Founded in 1972 by Chung Ju-yung, HHI (or Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.) is the world’s leading heavy industries company. HHI delivers its premium services and goods worldwide. With around 27,409 employees and a market cap of around $7.5 billion there is no doubt that HHI plays an important role in the world’s heavy industry as well as the world economy. With Shipbuilding, Offshore & Engineering, Industrial Plant & Engineering, and Engine & Machinery being HHI’s four core business divisions, dealing with drawing files over 10G is just the daily routine.

As the project manager Lee says, “ There was not a viewer product on the market that can open drawing files up to 10 G and run smoothly at the same time. We bought expensive 3D CAD software just to view the drawings, and we also spend a lot on maintenance and training. But it’s still not the end of the story, in the assembly process, many different file formats are involved and we couldn’t open them all.”
